Best Disney Live Action Remakes

Disney Live action remakes seem to be popping up all over the place, some are great and some… hmm not so good. Let’s take a look at which ones made my list and which ones didn’t. Which one is your favorite?

Beauty And The Beast:

I was very skeptical when I heard this movie was going to be remade but I have to say the movie wowed me. It was perfect in every way and I couldn’t take my eyes from the screen. Emma Watson played the role of Belle and Dan Stevens as the beast. The movie was just so true to the original cartoon that even the characters looked exactly how they should.

The movie that showed us a different take on the Disney classic Sleeping Beauty. Starring Angelina Jolie as the wicked Maleficent we found out that really she wasn’t evil at all she was just heartbroken and angry. I loved the twist ending in the movie and could happily sit and watch it a million times over.

This was possibly one of my favorite movies as a kid and I still sit now and watch it with my 4-year-old son. As you can gather from the title it is a live action take on the Disney classic Peter Pan. Just like we did with Maleficent we see things a little differently in this movie as we meet a grown up Peter Pan who is now a family man. It starred the late Robin Williams as Peter Pan and Julia Roberts as the little fairy sidekick Tinkerbelle.

Alice In Wonderland:

Many people may disagree with me for this one but I fell in love with it. This action-packed version of the Disney classic of the same name was truly brilliant. For me, it was Johnny Depp that made the movie so fantastic, he played the role of The Mad Hatter and done an amazing job. I loved how The Mad Hatter had a darker side to him in this version.

Petes Dragon:

This was another movie from my childhood that I was worried that they might screw up by giving it a remake. I’m happy to say though the movie was brilliant and I enjoyed every moment of it. It is definitely a one to watch if you haven’t seen it yet.

Those are my favorites. Whats yours?
