3 Easy Crochet Flower Patterns – Free Pattern

The weather is getting quite chilly now and before we know it Autumn will be here. Autumn is a time when the crochet hooks come out to make beautiful hats, scarfs and ear warmers. Why not add a flower to your beautiful creations. Here are 3 easy crochet flower patterns just in case you want to try them out.

These flowers can be easily changed in size depending on the type of wool used and size of hook. These flowers are so versatile and quick to make up. Let’s jump straight in with my first flower pattern…

Easy Crochet Flower Pattern One: Rose:

What You Will Need:

  • Crochet hook (the bigger the hook, the bigger the rose)
  • Scrap wool (all wool deserves to be loved LOL)
  • A hot glue gun (or if you’re not lazy like me a needle to sew the rose)

Pattern:

Chain 57.

Row 1: ( Dc, Ch 2, DC) in the 6th ch from hook. *Ch2, skip next 2 Chs, (Dc, Ch 2, Dc) in next ch; repeat from * to the end of your chain.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, 5 Dc in next Ch-2 sp, then Sc in next Ch-2 sp,  Make 6 Dc in next Ch-2 sp, Sc in next ch-2 sp) Do this  5 times. In the next 5 spaces ( 9 Dc in next Ch-2 sp, Sc in next ch-2 sp). In the last 7 spaces ( 12 Dc in next Ch-2 sp, Sc in next sp)

The crochet chain will start to slightly curl in on itself. And that is just what you want it to do.

Now starting at the smaller petals you need to start curling it into a rose shape, as you go don’t forget to hot glue or sew it in place. Once it’s all done you will be left with a lovely rose head.  I added some pearls to bling mine up for nail art pictures but you can leave it as it is or put a gem in the center

Easy Crochet Flower Pattern Two: 6 Petal Flower:

This cute crochet flower is super simple and again can be changed in size just by changing your hook size or wool.

What You Will Need:

  • Crochet hook (the bigger the hook, the bigger the rose)
  • Scrap wool (all wool deserves to be loved LOL)
  • A hot glue gun (or if you’re not lazy like me a needle to sew the petals together)

Pattern:

Make a magic ring ch1

Make 10 hdc in the magic ring, ss into the top of the first hdc and pull tight.
Make 2 hdc in each st around, join and fasten off.

That’s all there is to it make 6 of these super easy petals and glue/sew at the bottom so they fold in then glue or sew them together and add a gem to the center and the flower is done.

Easy Crochet Flower Pattern Four: Layered Flower:

Simply make 2 of these with different size hooks for the layered effect. I used 5mm and 3.5mm hooks.

What You Will Need:

  • Crochet hook (the bigger the hook, the bigger the rose)
  • Scrap wool (all wool deserves to be loved LOL)
  • A hot glue gun (or if you’re not lazy like me a needle to sew the flowers on top of each other)

Pattern:

Make 5 ch  and  join with sl st to form ring.
10 sc in centre of ring.
Ss to top of first sc.
Create a petal in the first sc – sc, 3dc, sc
Continue making small petals in every other sc using the same pattern.

Make another flower either bigger or smaller than the one you just made and sew them together and add a gem if you like.

Happy Crocheting!
